He saved the life of Jiro Satsuma when he fell from a mountian and then because Ultras have to stay in human form when they are on earth, he shaped himself into a being similiar to Jiro which he calls himself, Dan. After some encounters with the Ultra Garrison, Seven joins them to defend earth. In some 1980s reference comic books, UltraSeven was just a title that was given to the top order of the Red guards and that UltraSeven's real name was actuall "red" or "Red Ultraman" UltraSeven's tour of duty or "holiday" on Earth ended when his pervious commander of the red guards summoned him back to save M78. ( we see an ultra similiar to ultraSeven calling him) Reference from the Comics show that Father of Ultra and Ultraman King was captured by an aliend force which they moved to find peace with. Once Father of Ultra was captured the aliens launched a major attack on M78 and because they were short handed, UltraSeven gathered up his elite guards to defend the alien invasion where the others moved in to save those captured.
